TranslateEdit

Wikimedia's software is translated to hundreds of languages using the Translate extension for MediaWiki. In addition it is used to translate help pages, newsletters, policies, announcements, banners, etc. It is installed on Wikimedia special projects, translatewiki.net and many other sites. Translate is part of MLEB.

Changes to translations and equivalent localisation data (magic words, namespace names) are not included in this list. The volunteer translators are updating translations every day to keep up with changes.

Project MilkshakeEdit

Project Milkshake consists of four re-usable jquery internationalization libraries.

  • Added new keyboard layouts for several languages of Western Africa: Ewe, Hausa, Igbo. (Amir. This fulfills a community wishlist item. The one for Hausa was already used in the outreach project in Nigeria.)
  • Improved layouts for Yoruba and Fon languages. (Amir, Mah3110)
  • Merged community-contributed new layouts for Santali (hpnrt) and Ho (Singkiring57) languages, as well as for several languages of Ethiopia (fgaim).

  • As part of Google Code-In, the translatewiki configuration of several extensions was updated to split API messages (10 patches by Zoranzoki, 6 patches by rafidaslam; mentored by Amir, review help from Raymond Spekking and Niklas)
