• Search
  • Enable the backend for cross-project searches on all Wikimedia projects
    • Back end: Load test (the real potential blocker) was deployed/undeployed, will be redeployed
    • Front end: Reached out to communities for A/B tests; got one, want more. Meetings w/Nirzar about design are progressing
  • Enrich the data stored in ElasticSearch to allow targeted improvements to result relevance (Migrate away from "all" field in Elasticsearch)
    • Done for top 10 projects. Depending on analysis, might reindex wikis, or might have to fix space issue for some languages

  • Increase maps and graphs usage on Wikipedia
    • Updating commons template increased usage a lot (overall requests up by 10x)
    • Researching low uptake on ruwiki (fewer articles than hoped)
  • Enable shareable Geoshapes and Tabular data storage on Commons
    • Now enabled on beta labs (commons and other wikis)
    • Hope to deploy widely next week
    • Some progress on geojson; need to add support for maps and graphs
