Creole

Creole is a proposed standard for wiki markup used across different wiki engines. Its goal is to enable and simplify the transfer of content between different wiki engines, as well as reducing the need for users of different wiki engines to learn different (and sometimes conflicting) syntax.

Mediawiki does not yet support Creole, it's been suggested (2007) that it can be implemented with relatively little work.
