Regular expressions (or regex) can be used in a lot of tools:

• OpenRefine
• VisualFileChange.js on Wikimedia Commons
• Text-replace in text editing software like MediaWiki/Google Docs/etc.
• when processing data in scripts

Participants will learn the following:

1. how to create regexes;
2. how to use regexes.
