The purpose of this page is to collect stories of the evolving usage and impact of the WikiLove tool. Right now, the quickest way to find WikiLove edits is filter 423. Please only add stories if you're willing to categorize and summarize them as per the existing convention to keep this page useful. :-) Diffs are more helpful than links to the talk page, since talk pages have pretty heavy churn and the WikiLove will get lost.

New users interacting with each other

• A new user with India topic focus thanks another new user with the same interests regarding an article they both worked on together
• A moderately experienced user from India sends a beer to another moderately experienced user editing India topics
• New user thanking new user in a sea of warnings

Experienced users interacting with new users

• An experienced user sends words of encouragement to a new user
• Moderately active user being thanked with custom image for the first time
• Completely new user being thanked for spotting an error
• A cookie with words of encouragement for a new user

Experienced users interacting with each other

• An experienced user and welcomer uses WikiLove to wish another user a happy birthday
• User thanking another user for help with an article
• A user appreciating her appreciation
• Two experienced users exchanging kittens with each other and promising to meet up at Wikimania.
• user experiments with "heart-icon-thingy", performs random act of Wikilove
• User thanks two editors for their FA contributions, uses as opportunity to request help reviewing FA/GA candidate backlog.

New users interacting with experienced users

• Example of a new user using "Make your own" (with the example "Trophy.png" as image) to leave a regular message - this is not uncommon

Odd or possibly malicious

• User engaged in mild vandalism tries some human contact via WikiLove (is reverted and blocked)
• New user without edits engaging in some degree of lovebombing, possibly good faith; receivers personal word of caution
• Experienced user using the "make your own" feature to "trash" a vandal
• New user uses WikiLove to make a request to an experienced user
• Vandal follows up their edits with random distribution of kittens
• New user who engages in nothing but WikiLove and user page experimentation

Self-Love

• New user gives herself a kitten
• New user gives self a cookie
