It's not up to me. Oliver Keyes has asked that I tag edits related to my job, even here, due to his interpretation of an internal WMF policy. Since I'm a software engineer, almost every edit on MW.org is considered somewhat related. Superm401 - Talk 08:31, 11 May 2013 (UTC)Reply
Do you report to Oliver Keyes? MZMcBride (talk) 15:35, 11 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Global usage of a script

edit

Hi! Could you add the following (a workaround of bugzilla:33355)

// @tracking: [[Special:GlobalUsage/User:Tools/DebugModeToggle.js]] ([[File:User:Tools/DebugModeToggle.js]])

to your User:Superm401/common.js so I can track the usage of that script? Thank you! Helder 13:53, 4 June 2013 (UTC)

Done, thanks for the script. Superm401 - Talk 19:07, 4 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Extension:GuidedTour on Wikivoyage

edit

Hi there. Over at Wikivoyage, where I'm an admin, there's been some discussion about implementing some sort of "site tour" feature. It would walk users through step-by-step the various features out site has, many of which go unnoticed or unused. We were planning on doing this using customised wiki pages, but I came across the extension you're working on and think it's exactly what we need. I'm not sure what stage development is at, but if you need a guinea pig site, we may be your wiki. There was a short discussion about it here, along with various discussions elsewhere and off-site. If you're willing to assist us in a test implementation of your extension, I could make a proposal on-site to see if there is consensus to try it out. What are your thoughts on that? All the best. edit

Hi, you are invited to the GSoC / OPW IRC AllHands meeting on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at 15:00 UTC (8:30pm IST, 8am PDT) at #wikimedia-office. We have done our best finding a time that works decently in as many timezones as possibles. Please confirm at qgil wikimedia.org so I can add you to the calendar invitation and I have your preferred email for other occasions. If you can't make it's fine, but let me know as well. We have left a notice to all students, but your help is welcome making sure yours is aware about it. Thank you! Qgil (talk) 20:34, 24 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Sorry, I can't make that. You can use my Wikimedia email for such meetings. Superm401 - Talk 22:39, 24 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

VisualEditor Parsoid.php revert

edit

Hi Matt,

In relation to this revert:

https://www.mediawiki.org/w/index.php?title=Extension:VisualEditor&oldid=992554&diff=prev

What is this Parsoid.php file? I can't find it in either the VisualEditor or Parsoid repositories, even in the git deleted files.

Regards, Barry Bcoughlan (talk) 23:10, 8 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

It's in the root of the Parsoid repository. See https://git.wikimedia.org/blob/mediawiki%2Fextensions%2FParsoid.git/HEAD/Parsoid.php . Specifically, that is a symbolic link. If your system does not support symbolic links, you can instead use php/Parsoid.php (that's where the symbolic link points to). Superm401 - Talk 09:02, 9 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
Thanks,
My confusion arose because the https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Parsoid/Setup only talks about setting up the nodejs service. The only reference to the PHP repository on the Parsoid page is in "Development happens in the Parsoid extension in Git (see tree)" so it's not immediately obvious from the Parsoid page that a PHP extension exists (or its purpose). Weigh in on whether to finalize new version of "Conflict of interest" section of Code of Conduct

edit

You participated earlier in discusson about the "Conflict of interest" section of the draft Code of Conduct for technical spaces. Earlier, there was not consensus to approve an earlier version. I'm contacting you to let you know the draft has been updated, and we are now discussing whether to finalize the new version.

Thanks,
