I had to make a decision. Not just during the past days people complained about the requirement to apply for an account. Moreover they did not read what wrote on main page. So I got fed up with it. Now I switched to self service account creation without extra approval. The price is that everybody now has to accept the terms of use shown prior to being able to view pages. Same for you. Sorry. Hi,

I noticed that IIwiki has relaunched at iiwiki.us, and I want to start a new page for that so that the stats for the old site are not lost. Can you please move https://wikiapiary.com/wiki/IIwiki and https://wikiapiary.com/wiki/IIWiki to the correct locations so that I can create the appropriate disambiguation page?

Hi. As far as I'm aware user pages should not be in the main space, and I'd rather the door was not opened to allow that, since it shows up not-that-infrequently from random bloggers etc. Perhaps there is an exception for long-standing users, but at least from a quick search I don't find other examples. Anyway, I deleted it as part of trying to be uniform. Hope you don't mind. Clump (talk) 15:15, 29 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

Well, this is a redirect and I have seen other users doing so. No worries I can delete the redirect. [[kgh]] (talk) 15:27, 29 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hi there,

That project says one should use Phabricator for contact but I couldn't figure out how to do that and ended up here. I only wanted to let the team know that is has been a while that the usage statistics can no longer be set to a different duration than the default two months.

Also, the disclaimers page is empty, and if I click on "send feedback" I get to a page that says "No such special page You have requested an invalid special page." Thank you for the very helpful project! ReplicationWiki-fan (talk) 14:47, 10 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for your post. You can best reach me here for issues related to Wikiapiary.
> I only wanted to let the team know that is has been a while that the usage statistics can no longer be set to a different duration than the default two months.
Hmm, it's 240 minutes and this is the minimum.
> Also, the disclaimers page is empty
That's indeed bad. Reported at Phabricator
> and if I click on "send feedback" I get to a page that says "No such special page You have requested an invalid special page."
That's bad too. Reported at Phabricator [[kgh]] (talk) 16:17, 10 June 2019 (UTC)Reply
Hi, Thanks for your reply that I only see now. Wow, you answered fast! Sorry I did not describe my problem more precisely. The Usage Statistics for Edit Count can still not be edited to anything but 2 months, e.g., here: https://wikiapiary.com/wiki/ReplicationWiki
The disclaimer page is still empty and the "send feedback" link still doesn't work but I see you created notes for this.
WikiApiary is a great project, thank you so much, and keep up the good work! ReplicationWiki-fan (talk) 00:30, 23 October 2019 (UTC)Reply
> The Usage Statistics for Edit Count can still not be edited to anything but 2 months, e.g.,
I lost you completely. I have no idea what you are referring to.
Apart from that I started pinging about the reported tasks. [[kgh]] (talk) 07:59, 24 October 2019 (UTC)Reply
Just if you open https://wikiapiary.com/wiki/ReplicationWiki (or any other entry for another wiki in the apiary) and then go to "Usage" you have a graph for the usage statistics for Edit Counts of that wiki. That graph, like the other graphs in the usage statistics, has "2 month" as default option. Unlike the other graphs although the options are shown the graph cannot be changed to show the data for just 1 week or for a whole year. ReplicationWiki-fan (talk) 14:12, 29 October 2019 (UTC)Reply
Ah this is not about editing, this is about selecting. Click on the very left of the selection box to be able to change the period. I do not know how to fix this I'm afraid. Please use my talk page at WikiApiary for all matters WikiApiary. Thanks. [[kgh]] (talk) 19:46, 29 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

Do you know anything about this "incoming extension" Semantic Travel? A brief search both here and on the SMW wiki doesn't turn up anything relevant-looking. ディノ千?!☎ Dinoguy1000 21:53, 8 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

Storing a File Page as a Property of a Page

Maybe you might know right off. I'm a bit stumped. I need to store images, but would like to store them in SMW with a property of a type of Page. Unfortunately, storing them with a File:Filename.jpg throws an error as : might cause an issue. I'm at a loss because if you want to query them as subobjects of a page, using gallery as a format, the File must be stored as File:Filename.jpg otherwise the gallery format doesn't see them as an image using imageproperty=... Any thoughts or links on how to store an image on a page as a Property of type Page with a File pagename? --Hutchy68 (talk) 19:28, 25 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

I created an example using subobjects. Works fine, also with a property of type page. Perhaps there was an issue with an earlier version of SMW and SRF. [[kgh]] (talk) 13:35, 26 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

Mass blanking of extension talk pages

edit

The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on the appropriate discussion page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.

Hi Karsten - I see that you just blanked the talk pages for a bunch of archived extensions yesterday, like this one. Why do that? Deleting talk page comments seems like a bad idea, even if the extension is no longer useful. At least, I don't see a reason for it... Yaron Koren (talk) 04:51, 30 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

This is a cleanup effort and I do not think this is useful to keep. [[kgh]] (talk) 10:38, 3 January 2020 (UTC)Reply
That doesn't make sense to me. If someone clicks on the "Talk" tab for an archived extension, presumably they want to see the old discussions about that extension. Why is it better if they see a blank page? Yaron Koren (talk) 14:34, 3 January 2020 (UTC)Reply
