2016-01-19: One thing we'd love to get better at is taking and publishing useful notes from our meetings.  An example of that is ArchCom meetings, for which we have been taking notes for a while, but I haven't gotten around to publishing.  Another example is our weekly tech Engineering Tech managers meetings, which are increasing in importance as we head into budget setting season.

This work isn't yet glamorous, and requires the following:

  • Good notetaking skills
  • A valid, recent Wikimedia Foundation NDA
  • Trust of the participants in your discretion and appropriate participation

The benefits to you:

  • You get good notes from the meeting (assuming you take good notes)
  • An invitation to a meeting you might not normally get invited to, with the ability to be a "fly on the wall" in the rare event a non-boring conversation happens at one of these meetings
  • The deep and abiding gratitude of the attendees who want to participate in the meeting, but don't want to take scribe duties
  • Ability to ensure an important decision you may care about is documented well

If you are available and willing to be a scribe (see Good meetings for what that means) for WMF internal meetings that I'm involved in, please sign this page:

Note: putting your name above is not a commitment; merely an expression of interest to volunteer.
