Editing and translations

How do I edit a section of a page here on MW wiki without messing up the translation process? If I split a paragraph in two, do I need to tag the new para? Do translators get some kind of notification to update their translation?

Also, when using VE or New Wikitext Mode, I get a notice "You are editing a translatable page. Editing in this Editor is not supported."

Editing a section shouldn't mess the translation. However, it may add unwanted whitespace before or after the section being edited, hence it's preferred to not edit sections in translatable pages.

An empty line (new paragraph) automatically splits the translation unit, so no need to add an end translate tag at the end of the first paragraph and a start one at the start of the new paragraph.

About VE, it's understandable that it doesn't work there, because translation units are tagged with an ID, visible only on wiki code, that can get messed up by VE.

Okay, thanks, Ciencia Al Poder. I've made this edit. Pinging @Shirayuki as the one who marked up the page for translation.

I gather that should be fine as the two English paragraphs and the one Arabic paragraph cover the same scope and are still tagged with the same translation ID. Is it good etiquette to notify the Arabic translators of the change, or can I assume that they have it watchlisted and may notice for themselves?
