I'm currently working on deprecating a infrastructure component in Toolforge called "BigBrother". I don't know if you're familiar with it but it basically restarts continuous jobs that failed and were not restarted automatically by the Grid Engine. There are certain situation where the Grid Engine might kill a job _and_ the wrapper script that was responsible for re-starting it.
I'm going through all tools that use BigBrother to try and figure out to which extend they are using BigBrother. I noticed *usrd-tools* do use it.
I would like to ask your permission to convert the .bigbrotherrc definitions into crontab entries. I may have to create a small shell script to keep feature parity with BigBrother. Would that be okay?
