Debugging the issue with:

 $pageDesc=$page->getDescription();
 if (gettype($pageDesc)!="string") {

 } else {

shows:

page description is: SSL-Client-Authentifizierung aktivieren:object

so we need to modify getDescripton to return a string an not an object:
