This gadget works in the Main: namespace and the Wikipedia: namespace (at en.wikipedia.org), but it doesn't work on Talk: or User_talk: namespaces. Is that a feature or a bug?

It's a feature, or at least deliberate. References rarely appear on talk pages, so the script doesn't run there to help performance a bit.
