Text-orientation is simple to deal with, since it just requires a simple CSS statement without reorienting anything.

ASL is probably not the most important language using vertical writing direction, but it is the only one that we have a running incubator project and localization effort for. It seems that Chinese Sign Language, Indo-Pakistani Sign Language, and Brazilian Sign Language all have more native speakers, with several million each.
