Can anyone explain why this template exists? What's the point of blanking old extension talk pages? It seems like just removing information people might want to see, with no corresponding benefit.

There is no point in having talk about extensions what are no longer existing. No benefit visible. If someone wants to see the archived talk they can click on the link.

So, we've established that there are people who want to see the pre-archival contents of the talk page. Given that, why not just let them see it when they click on the "Talk" tab? Why make them go through the extra step?

What part of my first sentence didn't you understand? There will be only a very few if at all and they can do the extra step without issues.

I understand it, but I disagree. For any archived extension, there will be some small number of people who want to see what the talk page looked like - and an even smaller number of people who might actually want to add to the talk page, if only to write something like "Can anyone revive this extension?". For everyone else, it doesn't matter what's on the talk page, because they will never see it. So blanking the talk pages seems like it would have only drawbacks and no benefits.

There is not point in keeping the talk. Is see that you decided what will be done. No point in talking to you further.

Does that mean you're not going to revert my changes? Because if you do plan to keep reverting my changes, we pretty much have to keep discussing it, if we want to avoid an edit war.

Usually people discuss first before reverting. You do the opposite and wonder why others to the same? I am surprised. And now we should talk after all. I still see no point in talking to you since you already decided.

I don't think it's true that people usually discuss before reverting; see the English-language Wikipedia's "bold, revert, discuss" rule. (And your mass blankings were certainly bold.) Anyway, we're talking about it now. So, are you planning to keep reverting my changes?

You should... tell me what you're planning to do. If you're planning to keep reverting, then we should discuss it and hopefully come to a resolution.

How should we come to a resolution? Not sure if you realize how you proceeded here and that you already decided. Please proceed to revert me while I should not revert you which I will no longer do.
