- Watchlist table
- Toolserver users have limited access to the watchlist table. The sensitive data in this table have to use with care ... better: ...has to be used with care.

- Ist "data" not plural in this case (my dictionary says that "data" can be used with a singular or a plural verb)? --DaB. 14:05, 3 August 2011 (UTC)
- There is no plural problem - you are right, it can be "have" and "has" depending on what exactly you want to say - it is the incorrect passive voice, "has to use" versus "has to be used", that should be straightened. Greetings --Purodha Blissenbach (talk) 17:17, 3 August 2011 (UTC)
- Corrected. A en-3-user should be know better than me :-). --DaB. 16:39, 6 August 2011 (UTC)

- +1. The first sentence was completely right. The second one ("the sensitive data...") still needs some improvement, though. Data is an uncountable noun, so singular needs to be used here (see explanation) and the sentence is in passive voice, too, which is why it must be "The sensitive data in this table has to be used". IRC
editThis hasn't been specified on this page, so I'm asking here first. I frequently notice bouncers on IRC logged on from either willow or nightshade, so I was wondering, are people allowed to use the toolserver in that manner? I'm thinking of monitoring the CVN channels using irssi with screen; for the last few months I've used a free shell to do that but it's been (understandably) unreliable. So, as long as the connection facilitates Wikipedia editing, is it tolerable? Menti 15:20, 6 August 2011 (UTC)
- As long as the bouncer/the irssi-screen is used for wikimedia-project channels and the logging-rules of the channels are respected, I'm fine with that. But I'm not ok with this if the account is only used for that purpose or the access (to the bouncer or the account) is shared. --DaB. 16:36, 6 August 2011 (UTC)
- I personally don't like people using the TS to run general IRC clients; even if they're related to Wikipedia, I don't really think this is the purpose of the Toolserver. However, in the specific case you mention (using a client to monitor a bot) I don't see any problem with it. It's not prohibited in any case. River 17:41, 6 August 2011 (UTC)
