How to auto-enable a gadget for users

I've installed the autonum gadget, and I would like to enable it for all users. I see that the preference is controlled by the "gadget-autonum" preference, but settings the following in LocalSettings.php did not change anything for other users:

$wgDefaultUserOptions['gadget-autonum'] = 1;

userOptions.php still reports a default of 0 for it. Opoplawski (talk) 21:39, 13 January 2025 (UTC)
