The list seems to have been cut down a bit. Here's some that I can't understand why they were removed, plus a few of my own suggestions.

We had to reduce the size of the list in order to get them done within the time constraints and we felt it was better to focus on "difficult" concepts. "Email user" is pretty simple and can be done without a great deal of discussion.

I agree. To illustrate the point, The Noun Project has currently 43 icons for "Mail", many of them with CC0 license already. We don't need an iconathon to come up with the 44th.

Hi,

I am interested in learning more about the outcomes of this iconathon. I have not been able to locate more information about it though − unless I am mistaken there was no follow-up blogpost nor mention in the April engineering report. Could you please point me to the appropriate location?

Thanks!

Oh, I just realized meta:Iconathon 2013 exists. Which one is the good one? Should we make this one simply a soft redirect, or vice versa?

We're having the conversation in three locations. This one should stay.

"What links here". Proposed by Nemo and I fully agree. This is not an obvious icon, and quite Wikimedia/MediaWiki unique.

About the list of icons proposed, in many cases it looks like there are already plenty of alternatives at Noun Project (although perhaps not CC0). In those cases the task might be more a matter of choosing an existing icon, to be used as is or as reference for a final one.

Maybe we should strive to have less evident cases where Noun Project doesn't have much / any CC0 choice yet?

I agree that the list we prioritize in the end should be mostly things that TNP doesn't already have covered for us.

The thing to take into account is that many icons on TNP require strict attribution; this event gives us a chance to produce a lot of non-attribution, public domain icons. So, I think we should mostly be MediaWiki-specific, but also think strategically about what we want to become public domain.
