As a follow up to our last blog post, there's an opportunity to future discuss the topic of shared hosting and MediaWiki. Gilles Dubuc is hosting an office hour on IRC on November 19th to discuss the topic with members of the community.
Titled"Reconnecting with the shared hosting community" this is a chance to talk more about this topic and how we might all move forward. I encourage you to attend.
As an additional note, the originally titled task of "The end of shared hosting support?" was changed to "How should the WMF support non-technical mediawiki installs?". The topic's focus has shifted slightly, but the elephant in the room remains the same - What level of support should the WMF provide to third-party MediaWiki users and how does that impact future development?
