Manual talk:Enabling autocomplete in search box

Latest comment: 9 years ago by Blakegripling ph in topic Protip for 1.24+

Stupid question...

edit

Where do I put the form if I want to make a custom search box? And where do I put it if I want to make a new article? Wiktionary uses both and it has "Inputbox" extension enabled but "Create Page" extension disabled, so there must be a way... Any hint?--79.147.163.101 22:35, 30 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

Disabled in 1.20?

edit

Autocompletion doesn't work any more after upgrading to 1.20. Is there any alternative? DonPaolo (talk) 13:14, 7 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Why is there no alternative listed here? Seems wiki sites are still using this feature --Bluesoju (talk) 12:40, 6 June 2013 (UTC)Reply
I have found the answer. If you are using Vector as your skin, use $wgVectorUseSimpleSearch = true; --Bluesoju (talk) 21:45, 7 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Advanced autocomplete?

How is the name of the extension used for File:Autocomplete.jpg?

Suggestion box CSS

edit

Hi.

I want to change the style of the suggestion box. Can anyone tell me what the CSS class for this is in Vector?

Thanks.

I know the Vector extension page has sorta' covered it, but in case you guys are wondering as to why search suggestions have stopped working after upgrading to 1.24 and up, try checking your wiki installation if the aforementioned extension is still present, and disable and/or delete it as needed.
