Manual talk:$wgContentNamespaces

Latest comment: 3 years ago by Ciencia Al Poder in topic set all namespaces

Namespaces I define with this global as ns with no real content shouldn't be listed on the search page as tickable checkbox. SpecialSearch.php uses searchableNamespaces() which actually suggests that this is the case but it isn't. An argument could be to be able to really search all namespaces but if I define that these have no content then there's no need to search them and to list them as possibility to tick. At least there should be a possibility to do so since there's no way to hide ununsed core namespaces like Mediawiki Talk or Template talk which are often unused on smaller wikis like mine I guess. Hope anyone raeds this ;) --Subfader 22:56, 5 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

What's the default?

What namespaces are "content" by default? Just Main (0)?  — SMcCandlish ¢ ≽ʌⱷ҅ʌ≼  23:48, 28 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

Yep. It's at the top of this manual page. Default value: [ NS_MAIN ] ('NS_MAIN' is a constant with the value '0'). Sam Wilson 23:54, 28 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

set all namespaces

Is there a way to define all namespaces? i use several namespaces and define every again manually in LocalSettings isn't really usefull. --Gunnar.offel (talk) 14:14, 5 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

You only have to define them in one file, save it and forget for the rest of your lifetime. Is that hard to do? --Ciencia Al Poder (talk) 16:08, 5 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
Return to "$wgContentNamespaces" page.
