Notes edit

Basis of discussion: using an automated test-first workflow option to create Wikistories based on request from research, some want to start with text-first and some from image first. The Inuka team presented some explorations they are considering documented in this phabricator ticket; attendees asked questions and gave the following feedback:

  • The addition would be good.
  • I am interested in sharing Wikistories in other platform
  • Wikistories does not have a button to report issues and it can be abused. We can make a report button to flag the stories that are inappropriate.
  • I have given feedback about the text-first flow, from this presentation it meets the users request and it is based on how people interact with articles. With this We are still selecting facts from Wikipedia.
  • Image choices for certain topics are not easy to find. It will be a problem for finding images for minor topics because the keywords might not march. If it is possible for the API to also select images from the article, that will be good.
  • The technicality of breaking long paragraphs into sentences is good. I want to know the logic of breaking the paragraph, can the order of the sentence be changed or rearranged?
  • What if the sentences are not continuous, they are in different paragraphs? Can they be selected all at once?
  • I found out that in visual editor people can directly upload to commons, I think it can be done in commons.
  • Please ensure that changes made to the Wikistories are communicated in the Indonesian Wikipedia village pump.
