I would like to know the problem that occurs when I remove the font tag and replace it without removing 'Tidy bug affecting font tags wrapping links'
Help talk:Lint errors/tidy-font-bug
Any suggestions on how to fix this in templates? E.g. nl:Sjabloon:Infobox werelderfgoed has a link at the bottom, which gets passed as a parameter to the next template.
I don't have a good easy suggestion for you right now.
But, looks like enwiki is fixing some templates ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Trains#Sydney_styling_in_Template:S-line ) to address similar issues. I am not sure if what they are doing is relevant for you or not.
Thanks for the link. The idea that links should ideally be visible as links, is a good argument to remove unnecessary styling.
Is the linter supposed to flag cases where no text appears between double brackets? E.g. on nl:Station Antwerpen-Centraal, the top of the infobox is an image, which is wrapped between font-tags.
Image captions are also affected, although maybe we don't have checks for whether the image caption is absent. For that scenario, we don't need to flag a lint error.
Are you sure? Captions shouldn't render differently, and if they do, I suppose that would be a different linter category.
Hmm ... you are right. I am sure I tested it, but, clearly I botched my testing there! I'll update my linter code to not flag image captions. Thanks for the bug report! :)
