Tried with MW 1.30, only links to the twitter page. No display
Extension talk:TwitterTag/Flow
I suggest updating to a newer version, 1.30 is already several years old. The extension certainly does work on a wiki using 1.34 and several Miraheze wikis.
It does work with Mediawiki 1.41 in the Mediawiki desktop webinterface on wiki Christipedia.miraheze.org and in the mobile webinterface, on my Windows 10 laptop with Google Chrome browser. However, the extension does not work in the mobile webinterface on my Samsung Android Smartphone. It does work in the Mediawiki desktop interface on my smartphone.
My testpage: https://www.christipedia.nl/wiki/Gebruiker:Kees_Langeveld/Twitter
I tried to make a template to make it easier to use, but it doesn't work.
<twitter {{#if:{{{followed|}}}| likes-screen-name="{{{followed|}}}"| screen-name="{{{username|{{{1|Minecraft}}}}}}"}}{{#if:{{{statusid|{{{2|}}}}}}|tweet-id="{{{statusid|{{{2|}}}}}}"}}{{#if:{{{listed|}}}| list-slug="{{{listed|}}}"}}{{#if:{{{height|}}}| height="{{{height}}}"}}{{#if:{{{lang|}}}| lang="{{{lang}}}"}} width="{{{width|400}}}"/>
I changed the output to "span" instead of "twitter", but there seems to be no mistake in the tags.
Does anyone know the cause of this?
Thank you!
Tags don't work properly with parser functions inside them. Use {{#tag:twitter}} instead.
Hi, I'm trying to get this extension to work on MW 1.38.x. I get a similar message as 109.253.216.196; it provides a link to the twitter page, not a display of the content. See e.g.: https://csdms.colorado.edu/wiki/Test41
Seems to be working fine for me. Could be an anti-tracking or similar script blocking it.
My apologies! My browser is blocking the content and just provides a link. Sorry for bothering. I'll add 'Solved' to the question. Thanks!
Can't get it working with MediaWiki 1.34.0. Only a clickable link to the Twitter account will appear on the page.
Sorry for the late response, this page was not on my watchlist. Yes, the extension should work with 1.34.0. The link should be converted to timeline/tweet using Twitter's widget.js library when the page is being loaded.
Possible reasons why it wouldn't work:
- JavaScript is disabled
- Incorrect parameters, such as wrong ID
- JS fails to load for some reason
