The TheWikipediaLibrary extension is used by Wikimedia Foundation sites to notify users when they have become eligible for the Wikipedia Library program. The notification is sent to users with accounts older than six months upon the user's first edit after crossing the eligibility threshold of 500 edits.




  • Download and move the extracted TheWikipediaLibrary folder to your extensions/ directory.
    Developers and code contributors should install the extension from Git instead, using:cd extensions/
    git clone https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/mediawiki/extensions/TheWikipediaLibrary
  • Add the following code at the bottom of your LocalSettings.php file:
    wfLoadExtension( 'TheWikipediaLibrary' );
  •   Done – Navigate to Special:Version on your wiki to verify that the extension is successfully installed.
