The SpellingDictionary extension is a collaborative dictionary that can be used for checking spellings of the words of different languages.
Installation
edit- Download and move the extracted
SpellingDictionaryfolder to yourextensions/directory.
Developers and code contributors should install the extension from Git instead, using:cd extensions/
git clone https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/mediawiki/extensions/SpellingDictionary - Add the following code at the bottom of your LocalSettings.php file:
wfLoadExtension( 'SpellingDictionary' );
- Run the update script which will automatically create the necessary database tables that this extension needs.
Done – Navigate to Special:Version on your wiki to verify that the extension is successfully installed.

editThis extension adds a new user right, spelladmin (which allows editing/deleting user-posted spellings).
By default, everyone, even anonymous users, can add spellings.
Only users in the spelladmin group can delete spellings.
