The Figures extension allows to define figures and refer them elsewhere in the wiki. Figures can be images, tables or other kinds of media.
It is also a dependency for the DocBookExport extension.
Installation
edit- Download and move the extracted
Figures
folder to yourextensions/
directory.
Developers and code contributors should install the extension from Git instead, using:cd extensions/
git clone https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/mediawiki/extensions/Figures - Add the following code at the bottom of your LocalSettings.php file:
wfLoadExtension( 'Figures' );
- Done – Navigate to Special:Version on your wiki to verify that the extension is successfully installed.
Usage
editTo create a figure define it using the figure parser function. See examples below:
{{#figure: |label=Figure 1.2 |content=[[File:wiki.png]] }}
To refer to the figure elsewhere in the wiki use:
{{#xref: |page=Main Page |label=Figure 1.2 }}
The xref parser function will create an anchor tag which takes you to the figure on clicking.
