Hey guys :),

i was wondering if there is a way to hide the error message that comes up on Visual Editor when you edit an article without beeing logged in. We have an internal wiki running, where it is normal that not everyone is logged in when they are making changes to the wiki. Any command to hide this? Thanks in Advance, have a great day ahead.

Yes, this is shown based on the $wgVisualEditorShowBetaWelcome setting; if you set this false it should never show up.

hey there,

thank you for your response, it seems that $wgVisualEditorShowBetaWelcome is not the message i was talking about, it was set to false and i tried to set it to true for testing, which gave me a new message that i have not seen before. The message i am talking about is displayed in the top right, where the triangle is displayed. Any ideas how to get this part working?

Oh, right. That message is a core part of MediaWiki and will be shown whether you use VisualEditor, the wikitext editor, or another editor. The message is defined at "MediaWiki:anoneditwarning" on your local wiki (or from the software if it's not set locally). If you want to replace this message, just edit MediaWiki:anoneditwarning on your local wiki; if you want no message to be shown, replace it with a '-' character (without the quotes).
