Topic on Talk:Flow/Interactive prototype

  • Listing a user's edit count and user rights is probably a bad idea. The idea of an edit count having any real meaning is heavily rejected in certain areas. Showing the sysop flag prominently below the user's username would probably be quite damaging to a number of Wikimedia cultures, who place importance on user rights being not a big deal, and not something to be shown all over the place when it doesn't have immediate relevance.
  • The "mark abusive" thing is also probably not a good idea. I assume it would be used to deal with vandalism, but I don't think that we get so much vandalism on talk pages that we need to have a button to mark it on every single comment.
  • The "Last updated" marker for the topic seems frequently redundant to the time/date markers for comments.
  • The little icons at the top right might be more than a little confusing. Using a gear as the "other actions" icon is generally not the expected meaning.
  • The blinking in and out of the "(Board · Contributions)" bit is rather distracting.
  • As others have said, that is really a lot of padding. Maybe a bit too much...
